Penn State’s James Franklin shows us a new side

Remember a couple of years ago when it became a funny story how Joe Paterno was just getting involved with using Skype to communicate with recruits? My how far we have come.

James Franklin, and his coaching staff, have been taking advantage of a collective presence through social networking since arriving in State College. This comes as no surprise. Franklin and his staff have been doing this for a while going back to their time at Vanderbilt. This is a younger coaching staff and one that is more directly in tune with the technology the kids are using on a routine basis. Knowing how to leave an impact is key when it comes to selling the program.

We have seen plenty of Photoshops and MS Paint images shared by coaches in the past. Now we can add James Franklin showing off his inner Nittany Lion to the batch.

I can’t tell if Franklin is selling the Penn State football program or a version of OS X to Mac users.

Penn State’s spring game is set for Saturday afternoon. You can watch it on BTN2Go, the Big Ten Network’s streaming service. For continued commentary on Penn State, bookmark Nittany Lions Den.
