4 Tips to decreasing armpit stains in clothing

Sweating is a natural body response which seeks to remove toxins from the body and the armpit is one of the areas which sweat a lot.  The armpit area once it sweats it tends to show a yellow wet patch depending on the shirt one is wearing. The problem with this is that this creates a stain which can be quite embarrassing. This is because even though sweating is a common part of human life too much sweating can have a negative impact on your social life. There are several ways that one can decrease armpit stains on clothing by following these simple tips.

  1.    Have a good undershirt

Most shirts which are in the market are made of light material such as silk and linen. There are others which are made of cotton which is relatively light and is bound to show stain on the armpit. To avoid this one is advised to make sure that they wear an absorbent undershirt. A good undershirt will help in absorbing the sweat and ultimately the sweat and thus decreasing the amount of sweat which reaches the top shirt. A good undershirt can also have soft sweat pads or sweat guards which can help in the absorption of sweat reaching the shirt and creating a nasty stain.

  1.    Use an antiperspirant

There are many antiperspirants in the market and how they work is limit the amount of sweat that the body produces especially the armpit which is the area which sweats the most. In applying the antiperspirant what one needs to know is that it should be done when the armpit are dry. Applying when the armpits are wet reduces their effectiveness and chances you will still get that ugly looking armpit stain on your shirt. The best time to apply the antiperspirant is in the morning as you leave the house especially when you are anticipating a hot day.

  1.    Trim your armpits

To reduce the amount of sweat that you have on your armpit it’s advisable that you reduce the amount of hair that you have on your armpit. The reason for this is that the more hair the armpit the hotter they tend to get and thus the higher the amount of sweat. Getting into the habit of keeping your armpit hair short will go a long way in reducing the amount of sweat and decrease armpit staining. The next benefit of trimming armpit hair is that it makes it easier to apply antiperspirant.

  1.    Don’t use too much deodorant

Deodorants have been known to cause stains on shirts, especially in the armpit area. This is because most people tend to apply them there to deal with the odour that comes from sweat. Putting too much deodorant can lead to yellow stain especially when applied too much. One should apply a light layer of deodorant and allow if a couple of seconds to dry on air before dressing.  The trick is to try and make sure it does not get into the shirt as you apply.
