National Signing Day: Damian Prince picks Maryland

The top uncommitted recruits are coming off the board. Earlier we saw Soloman Thomas, our #6 undecided recruit, come off the board by bringing a tree to the table and signing with Stanford. The latest in that list to come off the board was our #7 undecided recruit, offensive tackle Damian Prince.

The home state school, Maryland, was the favorite coming into today but would the lure of playing in the SEC at Florida or South Carolina be too much to ignore?

On the ESPNU signing special, the #26th ranked player on the ESPN300, Damian Prince, picked Maryland. It was a no frills announcement as he got right to it and choose the Maryland hat just second after ESPNU cut to him. It was a popular decision with the home crowd. Prince called it a "great journey", said he's "very positive he made the right decision" and he "followed his heart". He also said the decision was based on where he felt he had the opportunity to "play the quickest" and "the best opportunity to make the best out of his next four years".

With Maryland heading to the Big Ten, Randy Edsall is building along the lines of scrimmage and the addition of the 40th overall player on 247Sports recruiting board is a huge get for the Terps.
