National Signing Day: Auburn High’s Rashaan Evans picks Alabama

The rich got richer in terms of college football talent as right before noon, Rashaan Evans picked Alabama as his destination for the foreseeable future. 247 Sports lists Evans as the #11 player in the country and the #1 player at the OLB position.

Evans was recently upgraded from a four-star to a five-star recruit by 247 and Rivals. ESPN's Tom Luginbill recently said that getting Evans was critical for Auburn

"I think it would be critical for Auburn because they need to capitalize on what was a surprising, magical year for them, and more than anything else, you can't allow a guy out of Auburn high school to go anywhere else"

The last two official visits for Evans were to Alabama (Jan 17th) and Auburn (Jan 24th) and both schools (Malzahn from Auburn and Kirby Smart and three others from Bama) visited Evans on February 1st.

With his decision made between two bitter rivals, Evans will now line up at outside linebacker for Alabama and try to reek havoc on opposing quarterbacks for Nick Saban.

During his announcement on ESPNU, Evans said that he "had to pick the best school for me" and that his former teammate, and current Alabama player, Reuben Foster impacted his decision "very much".
