Friday Flashback: Kingsbury topples Texas

It's Friday and as we get to ready to head in the weekend, I thought it would be fun to take a ride in our time machine way back to 2002. In honor of Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury's Reddit AMA from Thursday, let's focus in on his greatest moment as a college quarterback.

Deep into the college football season, the Mack Brown led Texas Longhorns had built a 9-1 record and was fighting for a Big 12 Championship as well as a shot at a National Championship. They were coming off of a 41-0 blowout of Baylor.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders, coached by Mike Leach, came into this game at 7-4 with losses to Ohio State (then #2), NC State in OT (then #17), Iowa State and Colorado.

The best player on this day was Texas Tech QB Kliff Kingsbury. On this Saturday, Kingsbury was unstoppable. He attempted 60 passes and completed 38 of them for 473 yards and 6 TDs.

Here's the highlights (Longhorns fans, shield your eyes)….
