Former Auburn TE Philip Lutzenkirchen dies in car accident

The college football world received some awful news this weekend as former Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen was killed in a car accident. The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer has all of the details about this untimely accident as Lutzenkirchen was a passenger in a one-car accident.

Lutzenkirchen finished his Auburn career with 59 receptions and 14 touchdowns and was a member of the 2010 National Championship team. He tried out for the St Louis Rams but had moved on to the next stage in his life which included being a volunteer assistant coach at a school in Montgomery, Alabama.

An outpouring of love, respect and mourning took place on social media yesterday as his coaches, friends, teammates, opponents and family shared their feelings….

 

 

 

Philip Lutzenkirchen was 23 and will be missed.
