For this weeks Flashback Friday let’s take the time machine back to Chris Petersen’s first season as a head coach. And oh what a first season it was. The Broncos went 12-0 in regular season play and broke through the BCS wall into the Fiesta Bowl where the Oklahoma Sooners waited.
The game was a classic with Oklahoma roaring back after being down 18 points to take a fourth quarter lead. With time running down, QB Jared Zabransky and the Broncos pulled a little magic out of their hat with one of the best plays of the BCS era.
Let’s take a look back…
That play put the game into overtime. Boise would go on to win and the victory put the Broncos on the college football map.
