Flashback Friday: Johnny Football puts the Aggies back on the map

The Texas A&M Aggies came into this game at 7-2 but had lost to the two best teams they had played, Florida and LSU. Would they be able to go into Bryant-Denny Stadium in their inaugural year in the SEC and compete with the 9-0 Crimson Tide?

Vegas didn’t think so as they had the Tide as a 13.5 point favorite. That’s why they play the games on the field….

I’m sure you’ve seen this amazing scramble and TD pass from Johnny Manziel…

that put the Aggies up 14-0. Manziel and A&M would go up 20-0 in the first quarter before Alabama came roaring back and pulled to within six points early in the fourth quarter.

No problem for Manziel as he hit Malcome Kennedy in the end zone to put two scores between the Aggies and the Tide as A&M would go on to finish the drill by shocking Nick Saban and Alabama 29-24.
