During this off-season, we are taking a trip down memory lane by reliving the high points (and low points for some teams) of the 2013 college football season. So far we’ve covered weeks one, two, three, four, five and six. Now it’s time to take a look back at week seven…
Here was the Top 5 entering the weekend:
1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Clemson
4. Ohio State
5. Stanford
here were the biggest games of the week….
Missouri 41 Georgia 26
Missouri came in at 5-0 and Georgia was 4-1 but the 25th ranked Tigers used an aggressive defense and took advantage of a banged up Georgia offense to get the biggest win of their SEC tenure as Maty Mauk came in to relieve an injured James Franklin and cement a huge road victory for Gary Pinkel and Mizzou…
Texas A&M 41 Ole Miss 38
The #9 Aggies traveled to Oxford and found a game Ole Miss squad. With 12 minutes left in the game, Johnny Football and his comrades found the game tied at 24-24. From that point, the teams traded blows until Manziel tied the game up with 3:07 left on the clock with a six yard TD run and then the Aggies hit a FG as time expired to win the game and escape Oxford.
LSU 17 Florida 6
Florida came into this game sitting at 4-1 and needing a win. Offensively, Florida couldn’t get anything going and that would be the story that followed them the rest of the season. LSU rode Jeremy Hill to the 11 point victory.
Utah 27 Stanford 21
Stanford came into the game on a high after beating Washington whereas Utah had dropped two of their last three and was 0-2 in Pac-12 play. That’s why they play the games. The game was close throughout but the Utah defense stood tall at the end for the upset of the #5 ranked Cardinal.
Texas 36 Oklahoma 20
Oklahoma came into this game at 5-0 having already dispatched the likes of WVU, Notre Dame and TCU. Texas was 4-2 having lost to BYU and Ole Miss. The previous year, Oklahoma won this game 63-21. The writing seemed to be on the wall but the Longhorns reached down deep and played their best game of the season.
Penn State 43 Michigan 40
Michigan came into this game undefeated but after 4 overtimes, their luck finally ran out.
