Trick play costs Buffalo at end of half [video]

What a difference a week makes. Last week, the Buffalo Bulls rolled over the Ohio Bobcats to stake their claim at the top of the MAC East.  This week they are having all sorts of issues with the Toledo Rockets, who currently sit in third place in the MAC West behind Ball State and NIU.

Trying desperately to get something started, the Bulls called a trick play at the end of the first half. Starting with the ball on their own 34 with under 30 seconds left, the Bulls completed a pass to their 45 yard line. The Bulls then immediately lateraled the ball three times. The problem? On the third lateral no one was around to receive it and it bounced around a bit until Toledo was able to pick up the ball and run it down inside the Buffalo ten. This set up a FG right before half-time for the Rockets and they took a 31-0 lead into locker room.
