Trailer released for football movie Draft Day

While not technically about college football, I figured I would break up some of the monotony of our bowl previews with a look at an upcoming football movie. Draft Day is set to debut in theaters in April of 2014 and has a solid cast. Kevin Costner plays a NFL General Manager and the film is centered around the NFL Draft. The film also stars Jennifer Garner, Sean Combs, Denis Leary, Ellen Burstyn, Frank Langella, Chadwick Boseman, Terry Crews, Sam Elliott, Chi McBride and Rosanna Arquette.

Generally speaking, Kevin Costner is hit or miss for me in terms of his movies but he usually hits the spot when it comes to sports films. Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, Tin Cup and For Love of the Game is a pretty good sports movie resume. Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Twins, Kindergarten Cop) is the director and while he hasn't had a hit lately, he is a big name. One of the writers, Rajiv Joseph, is apparently a rabid Cleveland Browns fan (the team that this movie is centered around).

Looks like football fans have something to look forward to in the theaters.

Here's the newest trailer that just got released…
