I was really looking forward to settling in and watching Texas Tech vs. TCU Thursday night. It was going to be my first real opportunity to check out Baker Mayfield, the walk-on freshman starting quarterback for the Red Raiders and I was curious to see if TCU could get the offense going. As it turned out, the game was a penalty-filled stinker complete with bizarre official review decisions and a fox.
That's right, a real live fox.
Texas Tech improved to 3-0 with the win and that was apparently cause for rushing the field by the student section. Hey, it was a win over a top 25 team and a rival Big 12 school, so it seems appropriate. I suppose. Who am I to judge?
I just hope that fox found an escape so he didn't have to see that game in its entirety.
