College football coaches are a fickle bunch, often known for their inability to show any type of emotion, regardless of the circumstance. That's true on game-day, but also Signing Day as well, where admittedly even the best coaches wiff on a high percent of the players they sign.

So in essence, why get excited now, when you likely what know what to make of these recruits for another 3-4 years?

Those are the general rules, but ultimately, as we all know there are some exceptions to the rules. Robert Nkemdiche is one of them. Especially for Ole Miss.

Understand that the nation's No. 1 ranked player- a 6'4, solidly built defensive end- would've been a game-changer for whatever program he elected to choose, but at Ole Miss, a place that has never won an a division title, let alone conference title since the SEC expanded to 12 teams (and then 14), he is a potential program-changer too. At no point have the Rebels ever signed anything close to the nation's No. 1 player. Yet on Wednesday they did exactly that when Nkemdiche announced he'd attend Ole Miss. It's a move which could alter the entire college football world going forward.

And it was also an announcement that undoubtedly got Hugh Freeze and his staff fired up.

The video above shows exactly that.
