Pachall reinstated at TCU, starting job no guarantee

America is all about second chances and that's exactly what TCU QB Casey Pachall is getting at the university and with the football team as he is reenrolled at the Fort Worth, TX university and will meet with his teammates as well to begin the process of acclimating to the team.

David Ubben, ESPN.com's Big 12 blogger is reporting that Pachall will be let back on the team and in the school because he completed both an in-patient and out-patient alcohol and drug treatment program and met with and got the o.k. from TCU's office of college life.

Last season Pachall had completed 66% of his passes for 983 yards with 10 touchdowns to just an interception before his arrest on a DUI charge. An arrest that ended his 2012 season and saw him enter rehab to straighten things out.

According to the report by Ubben, head coach Gary Patterson isn't guaranteeing him the starting job back at all. That's probably the best course of action considering the guy hasn't been training or throwing or doing anything football related in months.

In Pachall's absense it was freshman Trevone Boykin taking the reigns – guiding the Horned Frogs to a 3-6 record while throwing for 2,054 yards with 15 touchdowns to 10 interceptions.

While the record may not have been great Boykin didn't totally fold under difficult circumstances and the 9 games of experience could go a long way towards fighting for the starting job in 2013.

If Pachall can keep out of trouble and regain the starting job at TCU we could be looking at one of the best stories of the 2013 season in front of us. God knows American's love their redemption stories and we're pulling for him to stay on the healthy path to success for himself.
