Marcus Mariota’s interception streak broken by deflection [Video]

Oregon's Marcus Mariota came into the game today against Arizona with a streak of 343 passes without an interception, which is a Pac-12 record. The streak dated all the way back to 2012 when Oregon lost to Stanford. Thirteen games later, Mariota threw his first interception on the first play from scrimmage in the game against the Wildcats.

And of course, after a streak like he had it couldn't be just a run of the mill interception. The interception was on a freak deflection. To get a streak like this, any QB is going to have INT's dropped but it's a shame that Mariota's streak has to end like this.

As it stands now, Mariota has fallen into a tie for third in our weekly Heisman poll. Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise and he will let it rip for the rest of the season.
