We've all been living in Johnny Football's world as of late. The guy is seemingly everywhere and doing it all in awesome fashion – from music videos to Super Bowl parties with celebs – however, his reign at the top of the college football world has come crashing down to earth today. After all, he's not the No. 1 player in EA Sports' NCAA Football '14. That list was just released earlier today for the world to see.
Yes, that may be a bit dramatic, but hey what does a guy gotta do to get some love from the EA Sports' guys, right? So, who supplanted Johnny Football at the top of the college football heap. Only one superhuman defensive player could do it, of course we're talking about Jadeveon Clowney. You know, the man behind this:
Perhaps EA Sports could've transitioned Madden and his BOOM call from his game – all for Clowney, especially since he is the best player in the game.
Looking over the list it's hard to really argue with any of the names that are on it and here are the Top 5:
1. Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina (99 overall)
2. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M (97 overall)
3. De'Anthony Thomas, Oregon (97 overall)
4. A.J. McCarron, Alabama (97 overall)
5. Marqise Lee, USC (97 overall)
But there are a few who's spots are a bit surprising. We'll start with No. 15 – Ka'Deem Carey from Arizona. Yes, he is the reigning rushing yards leader and he's extremely fast, but I don't know if I would consider him as one of the top 15 players in all of college football right now.
Overall, it's always interesting to see what the folks of EA Sports make of the players in the game and their attributes in real life. Call me crazy, but I'd love to get ahold of De'Anthony Thomas' crazy speed of 98 and acceleration of 99 – nothing bad could happen to opposing computer defenses with that on your team, right?
