ACC Championship Game: Staff predictions

It should not be much of a surprise to readers to know that our staff is somewhat optimistic about Florida State's chances this weekend in the ACC Championship Game. Florida State is one step away from pretty much locking up a spot in the BCS Championship Game, but all that sits in the way now is perhaps the feel-good story of the year in the ACC. Duke is looking to prove they are much more than a final walkthrough for Florida State, but can they pull off the biggest upset of the weekend? Our staff doesn't think so.

Allen Kenney: FSU big. Moving on…

Florida St. 45, Duke 17

Andy Coppens: If you like feel-good stories, than Duke is your team. Unfortunately there are overmatched at ever position. If they are keeping this game close or pull off the upset the defense will need to find a way to make Jameis Winston look average. Good luck doing that, no one has done it all season long.

Florida State 34, Duke 17

Aaron Torres: To quote the great Allen Kenney… “Florida State, big….moving on.”

Florida State 42, Duke 7

David Singleton: As amazing as it would be to see the Blue Devils win this game…it won't happen. FSU rolls.

Florida State 52 Duke 17

Jonathan Biles: I'd like to say that this will be a good game but it really won't be. Florida State will trounce the Blue Devils, Jameis Winston or not.

Florida State 42, Duke 14

Josh Parcell: Florida State has not suffered a letdown game all season. Not once. But even after a 10-win season, no one is giving Duke the credit it deserves. Are they on Florida State's level? Of course not. The Blue Devils will play with nothing to lose. The Seminoles will win, but the game will be in doubt heading into the fourth quarter until they pull away late.

Florida State 42, Duke 21

Kevin Causey: I love that Duke is in this game but FSU is just playing too good right now to lose this game.

Florida State 45 Duke 24

Kevin McGuire: I think we are all on the same page when it comes to the ACC Championship Game. Florida State appears to be Goliath while Duke is your typical David. I just don't think there are going to be any stones laying around in reach for Duke in this one. Florida State has the advantage at every position to look on the field. Florida State waltzes their way to Pasadena.

Tom Perry: What an amazing story it would make if Duke somehow upset No. 1 Florida State, but does anyone outside of Durham really think this can happen? Didn't think so. There's still the cloud hanging over FSU quarterback Jameis Winston, but it hasn't bothered him much so far or the Noles. Looks like Jimbo Fisher's team is basically a lock for the BCS Championship Game.
