Samuel L. Jackson makes a surprise appearance at Georgia practice on Thursday

Through the years, it hasn’t been all that uncommon to see celebrities pop up on the sidelines of major college football games and practices. Will Ferrell and Snoop Dogg were regulars at USC during the Pete Carroll era. Matthew McConaughey, his dimples and Lance Armstrong have been known to Hook ‘Em Horns on the Texas sidelines. And to quote Forrest Gump, Sam Jackson and Georgia “go together like peas and carrots.”

Wait, what?

Ok, so that last one definitely isn’t true… at least we don’t think. As best we know, there is no clear-cut correlation between Jackson and the Bulldogs.

Only, thanks to a picture provided from the Twitter handle @RunTheState, it was indeed Jackson who made a surprise guest appearance at Georgia’s practice today.

Why was Jackson there?  Honestly, we have no idea. Maybe to give advice to Mark Richt on how to juggle his suspension-depleted lineup? Try and earn some carries at the running back position? Counsel Bacarri Rambo on the danger of accidentally eating pot brownies?

We have no idea.

But it’s safe to say that is one of the most random- and intriguing- guest appearances we’ve seen on a college football sideline in a long, long time.
