The NCAA could prepare to level some sanctions against the University of North Carolina. NCAA president Mark Emmert told CBSSports.com the NCAA has not determined if additional sanctions will be handed to the university in light of recent information related to an academic scandal and the NCAA seeming to look the other way.
"We'll continue to monitor the situation and see what the facts are as they unfold from the investigations that [UNC] is involved with," Emmert said. "… And [then we'll see] if there's anything further that we need to do at that time."
The first public comments from Emmert since the NCAA said UNC would not be punished came as News Observer unveiled more information regarding alleged academic fraud.
