With Hurricane Isaac bearing down on the Gulf Coast, the college football world is forced to adjust their schedules. With safety always the biggest priority, some schools have packed up and moved their practices to another location or suspended all practice activity. The storm is also forcing some games this week to be rescheduled.
Texas A&M's schedule just got a little tougher with their change. The Aggies were scheduled to open the season on the road at Louisiana Tech, but rather than push the game back to Saturday the two schools rescheduled the game for October 13 when each had a bye week. For Texas A&M it will be the first of two games against Louisiana teams, with a home date against LSU set for the following week. The Aggies will now play 12 straight games with no time to rest in between in their first year in the SEC and their first game will now be played against the Florida Gators next week.
Southern Mississippi was able to get in a full practice yesterday but did so in just helmets. The weather forced the team to start moving their equipment to Lincoln, Nebraska earlier than usual for this weekend's opener against Nebraska. The team still plans on leaving for Nebraska on Friday, as planned.
Tulane is no stranger to this of course. Four years after having to evacuate and relocate practices before the start of the season, The Green Wave are once again continuing practicing in Birmingham, Alabama at Samford University, and the players apparently love the cafeteria.
Alabama vs. Michiagn may get all the national glory, but our Michael Felder reminds us all that the Clemson-Auburn matchup is well worth watching this weekend.

It's good to see Bob Davie back in college football. We don't know how successful he will be at New Mexico, but Davie wants the Lobos to be the most improved team this season. He also suspended quarterback David Vega indefinitely.
