LSU entering Chick-fil-A Bowl without a Wing

He is a college football cult favorite. His leg strength has wowed us time and time again. His cockiness on fake punts for touchdowns knows no bounds. And none of us will get to watch it this postseason.

America's favorite Aussie punter, LSU's Brad Wing, has been suspended for the Chick-fil-A Bowl against Clemson.

According to a report by The Times-Picayune's Jim Kleinpeter Thursday, Wing has been suspended for what is now an undisclosed reason for LSU's Chick-fil-A Bowl match-up with the ACC's Clemson Tigers.

Unfortunately, as of right now, that is all we know about the situation. A source close to the situation (aren't they all?) confirmed to The Times-Picayune that the sophomore punter will not play in the bowl game but as of now no reason has been shared. For now we will simply refer to it as a violation of team rules. What that means exactly is anyone's guess but for now we will refrain from entering the speculation game.

For now we will be left to think about what could have been with Brad Wing launching a 70-yard punt to Clemson's Sammy Watkins for what could have set some sort of record for longest distance traveled in a single punt play.

Freshman punter Jamie Keehn will likely take over LSU's punting respsonibilities for the bowl game.

We will update this story if and when we learn more about the cause for the suspension.
