Caption contest: Trooper Taylor steals our hearts again!

As I’ve argued many times before, Trooper Taylor may be America’s greatest natural resource. Ok, maybe that’s taking it one step too far. But at the very least, Auburn’s towel-wavin’ chest-bumpin’, occasionally wide-receiver coachin’ assistant, is the single most entertaining man in college football.

But sometimes, even Trooper Taylor outdoes himself. Like today for example, when the picture surfaced below via our buddy @WarBlogle, of Taylor wearing a fireman’s hat.

Why is Trooper wearing a fireman’s hat? No one’s quite sure. But if you had to name one assistant coach in college football to be caught in such a compromising position, could it be anyone else other than Taylor? The short answer is: Not a chance in hell.

Which is why today Crystal Ball Run decided to have some fun with Coach Trooper, and host a good old-fashioned caption contest.

The rules are simple: Go to the comments section below, and give us your best caption for this picture. It can be no more than one sentence, but that one sentence should fully encompass all the greatness that is this picture. The only thing we ask is that you keep it semi-clean, and don’t use any inappropriate language that you wouldn’t use around your own children.

As for the winner, well, the best caption will receive a free copy of Gene Chizik’s book ‘All In’ which came out late last spring.

And just to get you started, here are a few of our best captions:

“Cam Newton made me a household name, and all I got was this lousy hat.”

“I thought there was a fire on campus and quickly grabbed this hat. Then I realized I’d just walked by Michael Dyer’s old apartment.”

“We’ve got a code red, we’ve got a code red… have you seen Brian VanGorder’s mustache?”

“I was going to dress up as Harry Potter for Halloween but showed up late to the store, and this was all they had left.”

“The day Ted Roof left the students almost burned this campus down. This hat is for safety.”

“Yeah, I got kinda tired of the backwards hat. That was SO two years ago.”

Now it’s your turn, share your best in the comments section below! Go!

Also, big thanks to our man @WarBlogle for sharing this picture.
