Week twelve threw wrench into the Heisman race but week thirteen remained stable among the front runners. Manti Te'o and the Fighting Irish remained undefeated. Johnny Football and the Aggies put Missouri out of their misery. Braxton Miller and Ohio State beat rival Michigan to finish the season undefeated. The only major contender who didn't play was Kansas State's Collin Klein. Let's take a look at how our voters see the Heisman with just over a week before the trophy is given out.

*Sorry Johnny Football fans but Te'o is the best football player in the nation and he should win the Heisman.

*Anyone looking at last weekend's game against USC and not seeing how big of an impact Te'o has on a football game at LB is either not watching the game or has a serious case of SEC bias. Te'o continues to find ways to make sure his team wins football games from the defensive side of the ball.

*What it will come down to is will the voters in the AARP age range vote for (1) a freshman or (2) a defensive player. I think it will be close, but like RG3 last year, his play late in the year when all the other offensive candidates faltered should push him over the top.

* Manziel couldn't have had a better last game. He accounted for five touchdowns in an Aggie win over Missouri. The freshman completed 32-of-44 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran 67 yards and two more touchdowns. He also became the SEC's all-time (that's all-time) career total yardage leader. Pretty impressive.

Poll Notes
– For the second straight week, linebacker Manti Te'o is on top of our Heisman list. The last defensive player to win the Heisman? Michigan's Charles Woodson in 1997 but he also contributed significantly on special teams.
– Who was the bigger winner this week? Johnny "football" Manziel. He continues to move up the rankings and is gaining more and more backing as the "hot" candidate. The question, as Hamilton mentioned above, is whether or not the established voters of the Heisman are willing to vote for a freshman.
– The only player in action this week is Collin Klein as his Wildcats host the Texas Longhorns. The game is in the same timeslot as the B1G and ACC Championship Games but it's still prime time and it's not like those games are hot commodities so if he has a superstar showing (see also: RG3 vs Oklahoma last year) then who knows….
