Week nine of the college football season saw three of our top four Heisman candidates win (the other didn't play). Collin Klein took the poll position last week after Kansas State trounced West Virginia. Would he be able to hold off Manti T'eo after the big Notre Dame victory over Oklahoma?

1) Collin Klein (QB-Kansas State) – 24 Points, 40.0%, 7 1st Place Votes

Last Week: 19/26 for 233 yds passing, 2 passing TDs, 83 yds rushing, 2 rushing TD
Season: 117/165 for 1635 yds passing, 12 passing TD, 2 INT, 70.9% completions, 639 yds rushing, 16 rushing TD
This Week: vs No. 24 Oklahoma State (5-2)
*Klein just continues to impress. He clearly has the strongest resume of wins so far this season. All he did against Texas Tech was account for four more touchdowns. He completed 19-of-26 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 83 yards and two TDs. On the season he has completed over 70% of his passes and thrown for 12 TDs and just two interceptions. He has also rushed for over 600 yards and 16 touchdowns.

*The Wildcats march up the top 25 this season has been on the back of the senior QB. Klein has improved his passing dramatically from last season. He's up to 1,630 yards. A solid week against Oklahoma State could push him past the 1,918 yards he had a season ago. He can thank the Kansas State offensive line for a lot of that. He was sacked 42 times last year, he's been sacked 6 all of this year. He should have a huge game against Oklahoma State. Klein set his career best for rushing yards with 144 against them last year.

Season: 80 total tackles, 5 INT, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack, 4.5 TFL, 3 PBU, 4 QB Hurries
This Week: vs Pitt (4-4)
*11 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, and the nail in the coffin of Oklahoma in Norman with an interception late in the game, ya that's all I need to know about how much this guy affects the game. He's the best player on one of the best teams in the country.

3) AJ McCarron (QB-Alabama) – 10 Points, 16.67%, 0 1st Place Votes

Season: 122 of 177 for 1684 yds passing, 18 TD, 0 INT, 68.9% completions
This Week: at #5 LSU (7-1)
*McCarron is the #1 rated passer in the country with 18 td tosses and no picks. He's progressed from being a game manager to the leader of the most formidable team in the country, the defending national champions. He has a opportunity to get a huge boost in his campaign with a memorable showing against LSU on Saturday night prime time.

Season: 112/198, 1527 yards, 12 TDs, 6 INT; 1093 yards rushing, 12 rushing TDs, 56.6% completions
This Week: vs Illinois (2-6)
*In a "most valuable player" race, Miller would be a very close second to Klein. He does nearly everything for Ohio State and has the Buckeyes undefeated heading into November.

Poll Notes
– Despite beating the #14 team in the country by 21 points, Collin Klein saw his Heisman lead slip by 5.45%.
– Both Manti T'eo and AJ McCarron used big victories to move up in the poll as both made gains in the poll with McCarron jumping Geno Smith in the poll.
– Speaking of Geno Smith, the off-week was not good to him in terms of Heisman candidacy as both McCarron and Braxton Miller leap frogged him in the standings and Smith received just one vote of confidence this week.
– This week Collin Klein and Kansas State play another high profile Big 12 game as they play the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
– Manti T'eo and his Fighting Irish come off of their biggest game of the year and play a Pitt Panthers team that has won two straight games.
– AJ McCarron is in position to make the biggest gain this week as he and his Crimson Tide teammates travel to Death Valley to play LSU under the lights.
– Taking a look back at last years poll, Andrew Luck was still in the drivers seat with 42.67% of the vote and Alabama's Trent Richardson was second with 29.33%. At this point in the season, Robert Griffin III had completely dropped out of the vote and didn't receive one single vote. Sounds similiar to someone in this years poll, doesn't it?
Under The Radar: Kenjon Barner (RB- Oregon)
*Barner deserves a mention here (and an invite to New York) because he is the steady, smooth-running engine of one of the country's most potent offenses. His 974 yards rushing and 15 total touchdowns are even more impressive because the Ducks are blasting opponents early and they don't pad his stats–Barner rarely plays more than two and a half quarters. In the last four weeks he has touchdown runs of 80, 71, and 24 yards, a nonscoring run for 42.
