Yesterday, Washington State suffered a loss at the hands of Utah 30-27 in overtime. Today, however, injury was added to the insult of the loss with the announcement made by Washington State that starting quarterback Connor Halliday suffered a lacerated liver during the game.
Halliday was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital for observation and imaging following the defeat, after receiving several hard hits throughout the contest. Halliday – in a high amount of pain – played through each of the hits, but approached the Washington State medical staff following the game.
Washington State lost quarterback Jeff Tuel earlier in the season, for the season, to a broken collar bone, and then was diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome.
Halliday will remain in ICU indefinitely where he will be monitored closely, and it is believed he will make a full recovery.
Thoughts and prayers are extended to Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday.
