Newsflash: Football makes us stupid!
OK, that’s not entirely accurate. However, a study conducted by researchers at the University of Oregon found that when the Ducks win, male students lose… points off of their grade point averages, that is.
The conclusion drawn by the study’s authors is simple. When a team wins, students are more likely to throw back a few cold ones. If they’re getting down more frequently, they’re not spending as much time studying. Less studying means worse grades.
So, if Mom and Dad aren’t happy with the report card your bring home this week, you can always blame it on the football team, fellas.
And take heart, all you downtrodden losers. Your favorite team might not be winning, but at least you’re not getting any dumber.
