Saturday Notebook: All Of The Lights

Items of interest to get you ready for today’s action:

*At some point, the major media will get how little the vast majority of fans care about the Notre Dame-Michigan rivalry, right? If you have to play a night game as a gimmick to generate interest, that is a sad commentary on trying to stay relevant. Welcome to the 20th century, guys.

Tradition!

*The injuries to TCU running back Ed Wesley and linebacker Tanner Brock are going to sting the Horned Frogs today. Brock’s absence will hurt especially. He’s one of the few experienced defenders left from last season’s undefeated team, and his savvy would certainly help TCU’s efforts to stop Air Force’s option game.

*Larry Scott was doing his damnedest last night to stay out of Ken Starr’s crosshairs.

*Even Tark the Shark finds the welfare fraud allegations against two dozen Fresno State football players concerning.

*Why is Georgia Tech going to Middle Tennessee State? Yellow Jackets need to watch out.

*The Battle for the CyHawk Trophy isn’t getting much fanfare nationally, but that game should offer a nice measuring stick for Kirk Ferentz’s young Hawkeyes early in the season. Will we get another off-the-chain victory speech from Paul Rhoads?

*What I’m Watching (All Times ET):
