Hugh Freeze took to the tweets to express his feelings about the Arkansas State program and confirm that he will be accepting an offer from Ole Miss to fill the head-coaching vacancy left by Houston Nutt. The former Mississippi tight end coach and recruiting coordinator will fit right in and be able to take over a program that has potential but must climb an uphill battle in the SEC West.
Freeze hada sequence of tweets on his Twitter account, which we assume will soon change from @HughFrreeze_ASU in a short period of time, so we took the liberty of screen-capping them for the sake of posterity.
A side note: Jeremiah 29:11-14 reads as follows:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
Back to the tweets…
While I think we have clearly worn the “Team Nickname-Nation” phrase to death in sports in recent years, there is no denying that Freeze seems to be leaving on good terms with the fans. Will Freeze be able to do what the Ole Miss headline reads (Freeze Tapped to Return Titles to Ole Miss)? Time will tell.
Freeze will be introduced as the new head football coach Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. local time at the Gertrude Castellow Ford Center for the Performing Arts.
