Queen of the South Football Club is a professional football club of Scottish origin. Queen of the south club was established in March 1919. The club is playing in the Scottish championships. The club nickname is Doonhamers. Their home ground since the clubs’ establishment is Palmerston Park. We all know the importance of these matches.
Fans are like siblings; they belong to a family. It was not well received by the Scottish Queen of the South F.C. fans when there allowed a former M.P. and his family into a fourth-tier match. A fourth tier match, according to the Scottish regulations, restricts all attendances to the game hall.
George Galloway and his family were allowed into Palmerston Park to watch a championship game of the Queen of the south game. His attendance at the said event got to the limelight when George Galloway took a photo and posted it on social media while at Palmerston Park.
Fans showed their anger
Tier 4 restrictions bars attendance by all but ten directors or top officials of each team. The Queen of the South team felt left out and took their anger to both the team and George Galloway. Some even had tickets to attend five upcoming tournaments of the group.
George Galloway was quick to respond to his fellow fans’ rage by saying he had plans to sponsor the club. It felt to some of the fans as biased allowing George Galloway into the match because he has a “Name” The club hoped by allowing the former M.P. into their game would be a win for them in support and sponsorship.
The Queen of the South has apologized on Twitter. The Queens took to Twitter after breaking tier 4 regulations to allow George Galloway to attend their match. The Saturday match was against Dundee on Boxing Day. The club confirmed that George Galloway attended their match day with his family. The Doonhammers added that all protocols lay down by the health ministry are followed.
Controversy over followers
George Galloway was not relenting on his position in support of the club. He took to justify his attendance to support the team by promoting them through millions of his followers. One of the fans was angered and to post that Galloway had less than four hundred thousand followers, not the millions he claimed.
Queen of the south club could, however, be faced with disciplinary action from the Scottish professional football league. It was a more painful match to the Queens of the south that, apart from dealing with angered fans, lost to Dundee 3-1. The club anthem “The Only Team in the Bible” song was composed by Neil Grant. Their anthem always plays at Palmers Park, which has become an enormous hit to its supporters. Being the only team in thrave e bible, as their anthem states, this time, they lost both in-game and supporter satisfaction.
The seriousness of the real world has unending pressures and obligations. A sports fun finds relief from these grave life obligations; even though sports is a complicated matter with its disappointments, it is a relief for the fans. However, the Queens of the south have slept with anger post-Christmas day.
