A day after rumors started running wild through social media, Missouri suspended one of their top offensive talents. Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham has been indefinitely suspended by Missouri while police continue an investigation into an unknown issue. It is important to remember Green-Beckham has not at this time been arrested or charged with any crimes, but a checkered past that has led to a pair of suspensions by the university and news of police questioning the receiver fairly raises an eyebrow until we learn more about the situation.
Green-Beckham has been suspended twice during his time at Missouri, each for a drug-related infraction. The subject of the ongoing police investigation that involves questioning Green-Beckham is unknown with any certainty at this time, although we should probably expect to hear more concrete information about the investigation later this week.

- October 4, 2012: Suspended for one game following arrest on suspicion of possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana
- January 11, 2014: Arrested and released after being charged for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance
- April 7, 2014: Suspended indefinitely while being questioned by police in ongoing investigation
If we learn that Green-Beckham has been directly tied to any other drug-related offenses, Missouri has little choice but to cut ties with him. Already suspended for two drug-related violations, this would serve as a third strike for Green-Beckham. But as far as that is concerned, we will cross that bridge if we need to at the appropriate time.
Green-Beckham was a surprise prized recruit of Missouri in the Class of 2012. His commitment to Missouri opened plenty of eyes as he chose to stay closer to home to play for the Tigers. It was a landmark recruiting victory for the program, and entrance to the SEC soon followed. Last season Green-Beckham totaled 883 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns as he broke out of his shell. It would be a shame not to see what he could do in 2014, so hopefully we do not have to go there with this ongoing story.
