Welcome To Crystal Ball Run!

Well, hello. Fancy seeing you here.

If you’re wondering what kind of parallel universe you’ve arrived in, I’d like to welcome you to the new thecomeback.com college football blog, Crystal Ball Run (Ya know, like The Cannon Ball Run. Get it?)

I’m Aaron Torres, and along with my good buddy Allen Kenney of BlatantHomerism.com, we’ll be running the show around here. We’re also fortunate to be surrounded by a handful of talented writers you probably already know – Michael Felder (InTheBleachers.net), Kevin McGuire (No2MinuteWarning.com) and Tom Perry (EyeandEerBlog.com). A few others will join up along the way, as well. (I’ll save you the trouble: According to NCAA Bylaws, no oversigning occurred when we put together our staff.)

So what is Crystal Ball Run? Well, our goal is to pump you full of more college football content than you know what do with. Not just the big news stories (although there will be plenty of that), but game previews, positional matchups, opinion pieces, stadium reviews, and a million other things. You name, it, we’re going to try and cover it. Simply put, we know that there are already a ton of great college football blogs out there that you regularly frequent, and quite frankly, we’ve got a lot of catching up to do. The only way to earn your respect is by trying to be as good as, if not better than, an already incredible group of websites and blogs.

Just know that we will bring you great content.

We’re blessed with a powerhouse team of great writers who bring different perspectives, opinions and, yes, biases to the table. Some of us played at the highest level (definitely not me, in case you were wondering), some of us have covered games and teams, and some of us are simply veteran bloggers busting our butts, from the comfort of our parents’ basements (kidding of course).

We’re going to spend the next month gearing up for the season, and we hope you’ll take the opportunity to get to know us. This week, we’re kicking off by counting down the Crystal Ball Run 2011 Preseason Top 10, as well as additional news and opinion pieces. In the following weeks, we intend to give you detailed conference breakdowns, roundtable discussions and lots more in anticipation of the start of the season on Labor Day weekend.

Once the season starts, we’ll only be ramping things up, including plenty of content on game days and Sunday recaps.

If this all sounds good to you, please feel free to follow us on Twitter or add us on Google+. Also, don’t be shy with your feedback in the comments section. The only way we’re going to get better at what we do is through your input, with all of you letting us know what we’re doing well and, more importantly, what we aren’t. Ultimately, we’re looking forward to sharing our experiences and making this a fun community.

Alright, that’s enough foreplay. Let’s talk some pigskin.
