Podcast: How Florida State got their groove back

Miami may not be "back," but their opponent this weekend sure looks like they are. Florida State has climbed the rankings this season and now sits in a prime position to play for their first BCS title since the dawn of the BCS era. Although Oregon recently took over the coveted second spot in the BCS rankings, Florida State is next in line and that's not all that bad. Florida State has ripped through the ACC and their freshman quarterback has placed himself in front of the Heisman Trophy candidates along the way. Can they keep this momentum going?

Bud Elliott, SB Nation's national recruiting analysts and Chief of Tomahawk Nation, joined me on the podcast this week to break down how Florida State has reached this championship caliber over the past few years as well as to take a look at Florida State's game this weekend against Miami. Some of the topics discussed in this episode include…

* Florida State and Oregon in the race for number two behind Alabama

* Was it a surprise to see Jameis Winston take charge with this amount of success?

* What's different about Florida State's recruiting under Jimbo Fisher in the post-Bowden era

* How does Miami stack up against the Seminoles this weekend? Can they keep it close?
