Eastern Michigan returned the opening kickoff following tragic week [Video]

Just days before Eastern Michigan's game on Saturday, receiver Demarius Reed was killed in a homicide off campus. That left the Eagles with a tough decision heading in to the weekend on whether or not they should play their game against Ohio. As we have seen so often around this sport, the game went on as planned and the players found various ways to pay tribute to their fallen teammate.

What better way to start a game then by returning the game's opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown? That is exactly what Eastern Michigan's Tyler Allen did Saturday.

Ohio did win the game, however, by a score of 56-28, so the day did not have a ceremonious ending for the Eagles, but in the grand scheme of things the result of the game may not matter a whole bunch anyway. At least for one moment Eastern Michigan had something to cheer about and something to honor their teammate.
