UNC TE Eric Ebron’s record-setting losing effort

If you have ever listened to The Solid Verbal, chances are you have heard the term" losing effort" thrown around at one point or another. It is generally used to describe the quality stats a player puts in the box score despite his team losing. On Thursday night North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron had that kind of performance. It was spectacular.

There was the 71-yard touchdown catch and run, in which Ebron eluded a pair of Miami defenders and then hits another gear on his ay to the end zone down the right sideline…

By the end of the night, Ebron had 199 receiving yards, a new school record for a single game by a single receiver. This one-handed snag for a 23-yard gain set the record with 167 yards…

Safe to say Ebron was already on the radars of scouts, but he may have made some solid NFL money with the show he put on Thursday night.
