The Bloguin Heisman Poll continues with it's second poll of 2013. Last week the poll debuted with reigning champion Johnny Manziel in the top spot. After a bye week can he hold off Aaron Murray, Marcus Mariota and Tajh Boyd?

This Week: at #16 Washington (4-1)
* I still want to see Mariota (and his Ducks for that matter, light it up against a quality opponent, but it's hard to argue Mariota isn't playing the best football in the country right now. Colorado jumped out to a quick 10-8 lead before Mariota shifted into high gear. He scored a school-record seven touchdowns in less than three quarters against the Buffaloes. As long as Mariota keeps up this pace, it will be hard to vote for anyone but him.

* Another week, another video game stat line. Marcus was responsible for 7 touchdowns en route to a 57-16 win over Colorado. Zero sense moving him off the top line, but the next four weeks will test how good this team really is with trips to Washington and Stanford and hosting WSU and UCLA

* Even with Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston playing out of their minds, Manziel still has my vote. With an off-season of controversy and over-coverage, he actually improved as a passer and has a few remaining prime showcases against Ole Miss and LSU to prove that he deserves to win back the trophy.

* Other quarterbacks might have better stats, but nobody has made more plays, in more high leverage situations than Murray has. The fact that he did it without Todd Gurley, Keith Marshall and Justin Scott-Wesley this week only made it that much more amazing.

Poll Notes
– In our 2011 poll, after week six Stanford's Andrew Luck increased his lead from 26.04% to 30.21%. Russell Wilson was second and Kellen Moore was third. At that point, RG3 was 4th with 8.33% of the total vote.
– In our 2012 poll, after week six West Virginia's Geno Smith had a firm grasp on the Heisman as he increased his share of the vote from 46.05% to 48%. As of that point, Johnny Manziel still did not have a vote.
– Out of sight, out of mind? Johnny Football took the weekend off and he dropped from 1st to a tie for 3rd. The Aggies play Ole Miss this weekend. Expect him to put up some big numbers and remind people he's in this competition to stay.
– Out of sight, out of mind 2. Teddy Bridgewater played this weekend but the Cardinals played Temple. The voters responded by dumping Bridgewater out of the poll this week. He went from being second on two different ballots to not even getting a vote. Bridgewater and the Cards will fight for respect this year as they navigate one of the easiest schedules in recent memory. How much will this hurt his candidacy?
– All Aaron Murray does is play ranked teams. Or at least that's what it feels like. The game against Missouri this weekend will be the fourth ranked opponent Murray and the Dawgs have played this season.
– Do you notice any similarity among the Heisman candidates? The top six are all QBs. Baylor's Lache Seastrunk is the only non-QB to receive a vote this week.
