Thursday Quick Picks: Clemson @ North Carolina State

The Clemson Tigers head to Raleigh for some Thursday night football action against North Carolina State. The Tigers open ACC play as the favorites in the conference and tonight, but the Wolfpack are looking to score another upset of a top tean team on their field. Will Clemson avoid the upset, or will they pick up a win and move forward with a bigger goal in mind?

Our staff makes some quick picks…

Allen Kenney: I haven't seen anything in the first two games of the year to make me think these teams are all that close. I suspect that what turns this from a run-of-the-mill drubbing into a full-blown blowout will be Vic Beasley. It sounds as though N.C. State left tackle Rob Crisp probably won't play, which means Clemson's disruptive defensive end could go nuts. Look for a defensive score by the Tigers to open the floodgates. Clemson 42, North Carolina State 17

Andy Coppens: North Carolina State 33, Clemson 27

Aaron Torres: Clemson 38, North Carolina State 24

Dave Singleton: Clemson 35, North Carolian State 21

Jonathan Biles: Clemson 42, North Carolina State 30

Josh Parcell: Clemson 45, North Carolina State 14

Kevin Causey: Clemson 38, North Carolina State 21

Kevin McGuire: Clemson picked up a huge win in week one against Georgia and needed little effort to follow that up with a win over a patsie. Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins is going to be an explosive combo all year long and I expect them to come through ina  big way in this one. But how do they jump right back in the the fray after a bye week and a game against an FCS team, on the road in conference play in a place that has seen some upsets? I like Clemson to win this one, but I think they will have to gut one out late in the game to get it. Clemson 30, North Carolina State 27
