Game on! EA Sports signs new deal with CLC

EA Sports, staying true to their commitment, has inked a new deal with Collegiate Licensing Company in an effort that will ensure the company's college football video game franchise will live on. Soon after the NCAA pulled the plug on their contract with EA Sports, the video game developer released a statement saying the plans for future titles in the NCAA Football franchise will continue to move forward without the NCAA brand attached. This new contract ensures that remains the plan.

According to a report first published by Joystiq, Electronic Arts owns a three-year license with the CLC, the organization that handles licensing on behalf of universities and conferences etc.

"A source familiar with the agreement tells Joystiq that EA's current licensing extension with the CLC is for three years starting on July 1, 2014, and is for a non-exclusive college football game."
