NCAA Football 14 Cover Athlete is Michigan’s Denard Robinson

The votes have been tabulated and Michigan's Denard Robinson will appear on the cover of NCAA Football 14 from EA Sports. Robinson won the final voting round by edging Texas A&M's Ryan Swope. It might be considered Michigan's biggest win of the 2012 college football season.

"I want to say thank you to all the fans at Michigan for getting behind me," said Robinson through an EA Sports press release. "Michigan has one of the best fan bases."

Robinson will become the third Wolverine to appear on the cover of the NCAA Football series, joining Desmond Howard (NCAA Football 99) and Charles Woodson (NCAA Football 2006). With Robinson's appearance, Michigan will tie USC for the most cover athletes to appear on the franchise.

"It's an honor to go to Michigan, and for us to be on the cover of NCAA Football."

The sanctity and credibility of the cover athlete vote had been put in jeopardy when EA Sports became aware of fishy voting tendencies and ballot stuffing slanted heavily in favor of Swope. Those rascally Texas A&M fans are known to show great support in online polls, and this was no exception. But EA Sports was forced to investigate and clean up the poll along the way.

Have the Aggie fans learned their lesson? We sincerely doubt it.
