Disgraced ex-Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino ditched all his Razorback gear on his way out of town. Will current Hogs’ coach John L. Smith be next to hit the pawn shops?
According to an Associated Press report, Smith may be facing bankruptcy due to a series of land investments gone bad. Smith ditched his alma mater Weber State in April and signed a 10-month, $850,000 contract shortly after Petrino was canned for his inappropriate relationship with a member of his staff.
Unlike his predecessor, Smith has been open and honest about his financial difficulties and told AP that he didn’t want to embarrass the university. Arkansas A.D. Jeff Long said Smith was up front about his situation during the hiring process.
