After seeing CBR legend Tom Perry pick Arkansas to beat Alabama, I’m pretty sure this Crystal Ball is broken. But I’ll do my best with damaged goods.

Nevertheless, here’s what I could make out from the chards of glass that were sent my way, the remains of a storied prediction machine that—
two months before the season—has yet to been proven wrong.
Thursday, Sept. 20: BYU at Boise State
By the end of Thursday night, Boise State will have lost as many games this season as it has in the previous two seasons combined. The Broncos got punked at Michigan State in Week 1 and struggled to put away Miami (OH) last week. Coach Chris Petersen is tinkering with his unstable quarterback situation, something he hasn’t been faced with a long time. But Kellen Moore isn’t walking onto that Blue Turf.
What is taking the field for the Broncos is an inexperienced unit, dealing with the growing pains that Peteresen’s program has been immune to during its remarkable rise.
BYU will take advantage, led by senior quarterback Riley Nelson., and hand Boise State its second home loss in as many seasons in a typically wild
Result: BYU 38, Boise State 33
Saturday, Sept. 22: LSU at Auburn
Will Gene Chizik be able to field another championship-caliber team at Auburn anytime soon?
After getting blown out by Clemson in Week 1, it certainly doesn’t appear that War Eagle has a championship run in it this season.
LSU will cement that belief with a convincing beat down at Jordan Hare.
Result: LSU 27, Auburn 10.
Saturday, Sept. 21: Clemson at Florida State
The Tigers, as mentioned, were awfully impressive in stomping Auburn in Week 1, but can the Fighting Dabos really go into Tallahassee and knock off the ’Noles?
Nah.
The home team has won nine of the last 10 meetings between the two best teams in the ACC.
Result: Florida State 31, Clemson 27
Saturday, Sept. 21: Michigan at Notre Dame
The Wolverines have bounced from a humbling opening loss to Alabama with wins over Air Force and Massachusetts.
South Bend will be a different animal, though. Michigan needed a miracle comeback to top the Irish last year. Touchdown Jesus will be the only one delivering miracles on this Saturday night.
The underdog has won seven of eight in this series. Notre Dame is right now a 1-point favorite, but expect that to change after the Irish lost to Michigan State in Week 3.
Result: Notre Dame 35, Michigan 31
