Morning Playbook – Clemson reels in nation’s top recruit

Let’s get started!

This one may have caught some people off guard, but the nation’s number one player is heading to… Clemson.

Defensive end Robert Nkemdiche’s decision to go to Clemson, of course, will not become official until he signs his National Letter of Intent next February, but it is fantastic news for the Clemson Tigers, who have been putting the rest of the ACC on notice with recent recruiting classes. FOX announced they will be televising 165 games this season between their various networks (full FOX Sports college football schedule). The Pac-12 confirmed broadcast information for a number of their conference members’ games as well for the new Pac 12 Network. Conference USA confirmed some broadcast information as well.

Here is an interesting story of when one of college basketball’s top coaches, Dean Smith, stood up for one of college football’s all-time coaches, Bear Bryant.

The will of Joe Paterno was released yesterday by the Paterno family, in an effort to provide openness and silence any speculation about what may have been included or excluded.

ESPN took a look back at the last two years for USC, as they look to return to glory off of probation.
