2012 BCS Championship Game Prop Bets

LSUvAlabama41DJm1yF4uIlThe BCS national championship doesn’t produce near the same number of prop bets as the Super Bowl, but BetUS.com does have a few up on the board. Here are the five best.

First Score Of The Game

Touchdown -180

Any other +150

Um, did you see the first game? Did they score a touchdown? Don’t over-think this one.

Player To Score First TD

Jordan Jefferson +1200

The most obvious pick to score the first TD – any TD, really – is a running back. However, both of these teams use multiple backs. Do you really want to try to peg one to be the first to score?

At +1200, Jordan Jefferson has some value. Jefferson could get a score on a sneak from the goal line. Alternatively, he has a chance to make a play with his feet and find the end zone.

Trent Richardson Total Receptions

Over 2.5 -115

Under 2.5 -115

As good as Alabama is, the Tide don’t have a ton of offensive weapons. Trent Richardson is easily their best. Count on Nick Saban and offensive coordinator Jim McElwain to seek out opportunities to put the ball in his hands. Over 2.5 catches sounds appealing.

Odell Beckham Total Receptions

Over 2.5 -115

Under 2.5 -115

Rueben Randle has shown himself to be LSU’s most dangerous weapon in the passing game. That means Saban and defensive coordinator Kirby Smart will look to take Randle away. Ergo, ODB should get some looks when Randle draws double coverage.

What Will Jordan Jefferson Throw First?

Touchdown Ev

Interception -130

Jefferson isn’t Andrew luck, but he’s efficient in the passing game. More importantly, he avoids interceptions, having thrown just one in 83 attempts this season.

Yes, The tide secondary rocks, but Jefferson throwing a pick before a TD? Just don’t see it.
